چکیده

Unusual quantum phenomena usually emerge upon doping Mott insulators. Using a combinatorial molecular beam epitaxy system integrated with cryogenic scanning tunneling microscopy, we investigate the electronic structure of modulation-doped insulator Sn/Si(111)-($\sqrt{3}\times \sqrt{3}$)-R30$^\textrm{o}$. In underdoped regions, observe universal pseudogap opening around Fermi level, which changes little applied magnetic field and occurrence Sn vacancies. The gets smeared out at elevated temperatures alters in size spatial confinement insulating phase. Our findings, along previously observed superconductivity higher are highly reminiscent phase diagram doped copper oxide compounds.

Pseudogap induced by short-range spin correlations in a doped Mott insulator

We study the evolution of a Mott-Hubbard insulator into a correlated metal upon doping in the twodimensional Hubbard model using the cellular dynamical mean-field theory. Short-range spin correlations create two additional bands apart from the familiar Hubbard bands in the spectral function. Even a tiny doping into this insulator causes a jump of the Fermi energy to one of these additional band...

Inhomogeneity in doped Mott insulator

We introduce the concept that there are two generic classes of Mott insu-lators in nature. They are distinguished by their responses to weak doping. Doped charges form cluster (i.e. distribute inhomogeneously) in type I Mott insulators while distribute homogeneously in type II Mott insulators. We present our opinion on the role inhomogeneity plays in the cuprates.

Superconductivity in a doped mott insulator

Starting from the d-wave resonating-valence-bond mean-field theory of Kotliar and Liu, we present a new, long-wavelength/low-energy exact, treatment of gauge fluctuations. The result is a theory of gapless fermion quasiparticles coupled to superconducting phase fluctuations. We will discuss the physical implications, and the similarity and differences to a theory of superconductors with phase f...

Magnetic incommensurability in a doped Mott insulator

In this paper we explore the incommensurate spatial modulation of spin-spin correlations as the intrinsic property of the doped Mott insulator, described by the t-J model. We show that such an incommensurability is a direct manifestation of the phase-string effect introduced by doped holes in both oneand two-dimensional cases. The magnetic incommensurate peaks of dynamic spin susceptibility in ...

Pseudogap temperature as a Widom line in doped Mott insulators

The pseudogap refers to an enigmatic state of matter with unusual physical properties found below a characteristic temperature T* in hole-doped high-temperature superconductors. Determining T* is critical for understanding this state. Here we study the simplest model of correlated electron systems, the Hubbard model, with cluster dynamical mean-field theory to find out whether the pseudogap can...
