Experimental study of cavitating flow influenced by heat transfer from heated hydrofoil

چکیده
This study experimentally investigated the influence of heat transfer from a heated hydrofoil on cavitating flow to understand evaporation phenomenon under high-heat-flux and high-speed conditions. A temperature difference was generated between mainstream by installing an aluminum nitride heater in NACA0015 fabricated copper. cavitation experiment performed high-temperature water tunnel at Institute Fluid Science, Tohoku University. The effect heating evaluated changing velocity pressure, namely number, fixed power 860 W. Results showed that affected terms cavity length, aspect, periodicity. length became stronger lower owing higher temperature. variation periodicity implied reduced unsteadiness cavitation. modified number proposed considering wall. thermal correction term derived fluid close turbulent convective hydrofoil. corrected can be considered as parameter describes isothermal cases unified expression.
