Exploring Potentialities of Direct Laser Deposition: Thin-Walled Structures

In the context of Industry 4.0, interest towards additive manufacturing processes is growing due to their numerous advantages, such as possibility prototype, reduction waste material, inferior time market, ad so on. particular, a promising technology Direct Laser Deposition, which uses focused laser beam melt powders there are deposited. opposition well-established powder-bed fusion technologies, still some issues related this process. This work aims solve one them, exploring potentialities DLD in printing thin-wall structures. For purpose, influence adopted deposition strategy and layer thickness on geometrical accuracy mechanical properties has been investigated. The results have pointed out that first variable strongly influences workpiece. It possible deposit structures with ZigZag consider equal 90% height single track, printed same process parameters.
