Exploring the Impact of Planetary Boundary Layer Schemes on Rainfall Forecasts for Typhoon Mujigae, 2015

Sensitivity experiments were conducted on Typhoon Mujigae, which occurred in 2015, wherein the Weather Research and Forecasting Advanced (WRF-ARW) model was used to select two local nonlocal planetary boundary layer (PBL) parameterization schemes: quasi-normal scale elimination (QNSE) Mellor–Yamada–Janjic (MYJ) schemes, Yonsei University (YSU) medium-range forecast (MRF) respectively.
