چکیده
Abstract In the spring of 2020, town Fort McMurray, which lies on banks Athabasca River, experienced an ice-jam flood event that was most severe in approximately 60 years. order to capture severity event, a stochastic modelling approach, previously developed by author for forecasting, has been refined hazard and risk assessments mitigation feasibility studies, is subject this paper. Scenarios artificial breakage demonstrate applicability revised framework.

The lower reach of the Red River between Winnipeg and Lake Winnipeg is very prone to ice jam flooding. The onedimensional ice jam model RIVICE was implemented for this reach to better understand the processes leading to such events and to provide a tool to evaluate strategies for ice jam mitigation. The most downstream portion of this river stretch flows through a delta and marsh system which p...
متن کاملIce Jam Modelling and Field Data Collection for Flood Forecasting in the Saint John River, New Brunswick
Ice jams cause major flooding and severe damages to communities and infrastructure along the Saint John River. There is a growing need to develop capability in forecasting and analyzing icejam-related flood events. This capability is also essential in anticipating the potential for increased ice jam damages as a result of a changing climate. The HEC-RAS model, which can simulate ice jam configu...
