چکیده

Congenital vaginal anomalies and pelvic organ prolapse affect different age groups of women both have significant negative impacts on patients’ psychological well-being quality life. While surgical non-surgical treatments are available for defects, their efficacy is limited, they often result in long-term complications. Therefore, alternative treatment options urgently needed. Fortunately, tissue-engineered scaffolds promising new modalities that provide an extracellular matrix (ECM)-like environment cells to adhere, secrete ECM, be remodeled by host cells. To this end, ECM-based or the constructs resemble generated self-assembly, decellularization, electrospinning techniques, gained attention from clinicians researchers. These biomimetic highly similar native ECM great potential clinical translation. This review article aims discuss recent applications, challenges, future perspectives these reconstruction repair strategies.

Tissue Extracellular Matrix Nanoparticle Presentation in Electrospun Nanofibers

Biomaterials derived from the decellularization of mature tissues retain biological and architectural features that profoundly influence cellular activity. However, the clinical utility of such materials remains limited as the shape and physical properties are difficult to control. In contrast, scaffolds based on synthetic polymers can be engineered to exhibit specific physical properties, yet ...

Resorbable extracellular matrix grafts in urologic reconstruction.

PURPOSE There is an increasingly large body of literature concerning tissue-engineering products that may be used in urology. Some of these are quite complex (such as multilayer patient-specific cell-seeded implants) yet the most simple and successful products to date are also the most uncomplicated: resorbable acellular extra-cellular matrices (ECMs) harvested from animals. ECMs have been used...

Electrospun collagen-chitosan nanofiber: a biomimetic extracellular matrix for endothelial cell and smooth muscle cell.

Electrospinning of collagen and chitosan blend solutions in a 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoroisopropanol/trifluoroacetic acid (v/v, 90/10) mixture was investigated for the fabrication of a biocompatible and biomimetic nanostructure scaffold in tissue engineering. The morphology of the electrospun collagen-chitosan nanofibers was observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and stabilized by glutaralde...

Decellularized Tendon Extracellular Matrix—A Valuable Approach for Tendon Reconstruction?

Tendon healing is generally a time-consuming process and often leads to a functionally altered reparative tissue. Using degradable scaffolds for tendon reconstruction still remains a compromise in view of the required high mechanical strength of tendons. Regenerative approaches based on natural decellularized allo- or xenogenic tendon extracellular matrix (ECM) have recently started to attract ...

Native extracellular matrix: a new scaffolding platform for repair of damaged muscle

Effective clinical treatments for volumetric muscle loss resulting from traumatic injury or resection of a large amount of muscle mass are not available to date. Tissue engineering may represent an alternative treatment approach. Decellularization of tissues and whole organs is a recently introduced platform technology for creating scaffolding materials for tissue engineering and regenerative m...
