Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in the complex therapy for septic shock in a patient with severe lung damage caused by COVID-19

چکیده
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) has been used for more than 20 years in the treatment of severe respiratory distress syndrome. However, ECMO some categories patients is not sufficiently covered literature, due to a small number registered cases. This group includes pregnant women and labor. During intensive care such patients, entire available range therapeutic manipulations measures that can favorably affect outcome disease should be used. We have describe clinical case successful patient with novel coronavirus (COVID-19) obstetric sepsis developed early postpartum period.

Septic shock caused by Klebsiella oxytoca: An autopsy case and a survival case with driving Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation.
We report two cases of Klebsiella oxytoca bacteremia. Case 1 was a 56-year-old man who was transferred to our hospital by ambulance due to diarrhea and general fatigue. On arrival, he was clearly conscious. However he was in septic shock. We injected broad spectrum antibacterial agents and started intensive care. Though intensive care included continuous hemodiafiltration (CHDF), he died 22 hou...

A 60-year-old man was admitted to our department with non ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock. Total revascularization, using percutaneous coronary intervention facilitated by extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support, was performed, with a favorable outcome.
متن کاملVeno–veno–arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation treatment in patients with severe acute respiratory distress syndrome and septic shock
In acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) with refractory septic shock, isolated veno–venous (VV) or veno–arterial (VA) extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) may lead to differential hypoxia or inadequate tissue perfusion [1]. In this context, MacLaren et al. [2] showed that central ECMO improved the outcomes by guaranteeing systemic oxygenation without differential hypoxia. However, c...
متن کاملExtracorporeal membrane oxygenation support for refractory septic shock in liver transplantation recipients
PURPOSE This study was designed to assess the outcome of the extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in liver transplantation (LT) recipients with refractory septic shock and predict the prognosis of those cases. METHODS From February 2005 to October 2012, ECMO was used in 8 cases of refractory septic shock. Laboratory values including lactate and total bilirubin level just before starting...
متن کاملDouble Peripheral Venous and Arterial Cannulation for Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation in Combined Septic and Cardiogenic Shock
BACKGROUND The use of venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (va-ECMO) via peripheral cannulation for septic shock is limited by blood flow and increased afterload for the left ventricle. CASE REPORT A 15-year-old girl with acute myelogenous leukemia, suffering from severe septic and cardiogenic shock, was treated by venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (va-ECMO). Sufficie...
