Factors Explaining Business Student Attitudes Towards Mathematics: Does Gender Still Matter?

The purpose of this paper is to identify factors that can explain the attitudes business students towards mathematics, using data from a school in Norway. This article focusses on gender, personality traits (Big Five Model) and mathematical background. independent variables were investigated simultaneously linear regression model. Mathematical abilities are important for success studies, therefore, mathematics matter, since they will affect students’ effort their choice further studies. It was found background has strongest effect student mathematics. Personal characteristics also variation some degree. Gender little or no impact dependent variable. If there any gender difference it favour female students.
