Fano Interference in Microwave Resonator Measurements

چکیده
Resonator measurements are a simple but powerful tool to characterize material's microwave response. The losses of resonant mode quantified by its internal quality factor ${Q}_{\mathrm{i}}$, which can be extracted from the scattering coefficient in reflection or transmission measurement. Here we show that systematic error on ${Q}_{\mathrm{i}}$ arises Fano interference signal with background path. Limited knowledge interfering paths given setup translates into range uncertainty for increases coupling coefficient. We experimentally illustrate relevance typical resonator and associated pitfalls encountered extracting ${Q}_{\mathrm{i}}$. On other hand, also how utilize eliminate error.

متن کاملEnergy gap, penetration depth, and surface resistance of MgB2 thin films determined by microwave resonator measurements
We have measured the temperature dependence of the microwave surface impedance Zs5Rs1ivm0l of two c-axis oriented MgB2 films employing dielectric resonator techniques. The temperature dependence of the magnetic-field penetration depth l determined by a sapphire dielectric resonator at 17.9 GHz can be well fitted from 5 K close to Tc by the standard BCS integral expression assuming the reduced e...
متن کاملA High-Q Microwave MEMS Resonator
A High-Q microwave (K band) MEMS resonator is presented, which employs substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) and micromachined via-hole arrays by ICP process. Nonradiation dielectric waveguide (NRD) is formed by metal filled via-hole arrays and grounded planes. The three dimensional (3D) high resistivity silicon substrate filled cavity resonator is fed by current probes using CPW line. This mono...
