Fast and Accurate Generation Method of Geometric Digital Twin Model of RC Bridge with Box Chambers Based on Terrestrial Laser Scanning

Digital Twin (DT) plays a crucial role in intelligent bridge management, and the geometric DT (gDT) serves as its foundation. Notably, fast high-precision generation of gDT models has gained increasing attention. This research presents method for generating RC bridges with chambers using terrestrial laser scanning. The begins proposed point cloud data collection technique designed specifically internal chambers. Subsequently, Euclidean clustering grid segmentation algorithms are developed to automatically extract contour features from sliced clouds. Finally, framework based on Dynamo–Revit reverse modelling is introduced, enabling automatic identified features. To validate feasibility accuracy method, concrete variable section used. A comparison made between generated model terms 3D deviation, revealing maximum deviation 6.6 mm an average 3 mm. These results affirm method.
