چکیده

This study investigates the influence of load ratio and impact damage on fatigue behaviour high-performance carbon fibre reinforced polymers (CFRP) with areal weights between 30 gsm 360 gsm. For undamaged samples, ultimate tensile compressive strength, as well properties, are evaluated regard to their layer thicknesses. The tests were performed under tension-tension (R=0.1), tension-compression (R=-0.5) compression-compression (R=10) regime. results illustrated a constant-life diagram, piecewise linear interpolation examines first prediction. show that static performance improves decreasing thickness. Particularly loading, significant improvements observed, due suppression matrix cracks delaminations thinner layers. In addition, effect low-energy Thin- Thick-Ply laminates is investigated. demonstrate although delamination area larger, Thin-Ply can sustain higher stresses still reach same number cycles in contrast laminates. Computed tomography measurements visualize 3-dimensional progression after various prove composites no increase damaged during fatigue. interlaminar stress at not sufficient for expansion. contrast, case thicker layers, growths progressively throughout whole sample increasing cycles.

Static and fatigue behaviour of glass-®bre-reinforced polypropylene composites

This paper is concerned with fatigue of polypropylene/glass-®bre thermoplastic composites produced from a bidirectional woven cloth mixture of E glass ®bres and polypropylene ®bres. The latter becomes the matrix after the application of heat and pressure. This composite was manufactured with a ®bre volume fraction Vf of 0.338. The e€ect of layer design on the static and fatigue performance was ...

Impact Fatigue Behaviour of Flapper Valve Steel

The purpose of this study is to discuss the impact fatigue failure mechanism of a suction valve that involves the fracture with fragments torn off from the edge or surface. The shape and dimensions of the test specimen and stopper were made the same as those of the suction valve and stopper in an actual compressor. The specimen was operated by short-duration compressed air pulses, and struck ag...

Fatigue behaviour of nanoclay reinforced epoxy resin composites

Nanoparticle filling is a feasible way to increase the mechanical properties of polymer matrices. Abundant research work has been published in the last number of years concerning the enhancement of the mechanical properties of nanoparticle filled polymers, but only a reduced number of studies have been done focusing on the fatigue behaviour. This work analyses the influence of nanoclay reinforc...
