Feasibility and Acceptability of a Codesigned Health Care Transition Intervention for Young People With Spinal Cord Injuries

Background Due in part to medical complications, adults with a pediatric onset spinal cord injury (SCI) are at higher risk of experiencing dissatisfaction life and lower perceived physical health when compared their peers no disability. To support the prevention young people SCI must successfully transition adult care. Health care (HCT) interventions can chronic conditions move Objectives evaluate feasibility acceptability web-based HCT intervention codesigned parents/caregivers. Methods Semi-structured individual interviews were conducted online parents/caregivers who transitioned or preparing for from Interviews also professionals. The analyzed using hybrid deductive inductive qualitative content analysis process. Feasibility measured Bowen colleagues’ framework, which includes eight focus areas: acceptability, demand, implementation, practicality, adaption, integration, expansion, limited efficacy. Results Overall, participants responded positively believed that it would be useful Two areas et al.'s implementation require further consideration terms how embed into current Conclusion This study found an innovative approach parent/caregivers demonstrates promise acceptability.
