Microwave study of quantum n-disk scattering
We describe a wave-mechanical implementation of classically chaotic n-disk scattering based on thin two-dimensional microwave cavities. Two-, three-, and four-disk scatterings are investigated in detail. The experiments, which are able to probe the stationary Green's function of the system, yield both frequencies and widths of the low-lying quantum resonances. The observed spectra are found to ...

A Method for 3D Breast Cancer Imaging using Microwave Holography
This work describes a technique which has been developed for the detection and imaging of breast cancer tumours. It describes how 3D images can be reconstructed from 2D scalar intensity patterns, or holograms. An outline of the background theory in described followed by experimental results on paraffin wax breast phantoms Results demonstrate that this technique is capable of determining the loc...
متن کاملConoscopic Holography for Image Registration: A Feasibility Study
Preoperative image data can facilitate intrasurgical guidance by revealing interior features of opaque tissues, provided image data can be accurately registered to the physical patient. Registration is challenging in organs that are deformable and lack features suitable for use as alignment fiducials (e.g. liver, kidneys, etc.). However, provided intraoperative sensing of surface contours can b...
متن کاملFourier transform light scattering angular spectroscopy using digital inline holography.
A simple and practical method for measuring the angle-resolved light scattering (ARLS) from individual objects is reported. Employing the principle of inline holography and a Fourier transform light scattering technique, both the static and dynamic scattering patterns from individual micrometer-sized objects can be effectively and quantitatively obtained. First, the light scattering measurement...
