چکیده
Estimating the sea ice drift field is of importance in both scientific study and activities polar ocean. Ice motion being tracked at large scale (10 km larger) on a daily basis; however, higher resolution product desirable for more reliable monitoring rapid changes ice. The use wide-swath SAR has been extensively studied; yet, recent high-resolution X-band sensors have not tested enough. We examine feasibility KOMPSAT-5 COSMO-SkyMed retrieving by using dataset MOSAiC expedition. match-ups extracted from consecutive image pairs buoys than seven months central Arctic were used performance evaluation validation. In addition to individual tests COSMO-SkyMed, cross-sensor combination two was overcome drawback, relatively long revisit time SAR. experimental results show that accuracies are achievable single- configurations SARs compared C-band SARs, sub-daily feasible approach.

Sea wave numerical simulations with COSMO-SkyMed© SAR data
INTRODUCTION In this paper, X-band COSMO-SkyMed© Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data are first experimented as wind field forcing of coastal wind-wave oceanographic modeling for sea-wave numerical simulation. Experiments consist of numerical wave simulations of the SWAN model accomplished with respect to some relevant wave storms recorded in the test area during the winter season of 2010. The w...
متن کاملThe Intercomparison of X-Band SAR Images from COSMO-SkyMed and TerraSAR-X Satellites: Case Studies
The analysis of experimental data collected by X-band SAR of COSMO-SkyMed (CSK®) and TerraSAR-X (TSX) images on the same surface types has shown significant differences in the signal level of the two sensors. In order to investigate the possibility of combining data from the two instruments, a study was carried out by comparing images collected with similar orbital and sensor parameters (e.g., ...
متن کاملFlooding and Change Maps from Cosmo-skymed Images
In the framework of the application of remote sensing to civil protection from floods, the problem of the detection of flooded areas and ground changes in high-resolution images is addressed in this paper. Specifically, the high-resolution multitemporal observation capability offered by the current COSMO-SkyMed synthetic aperture radar (SAR) constellation is exploited. This work is framed in th...
متن کاملSAR interferometry analyses and experiments with COSMO-SkyMed
The new X-band SAR missions provide SAR images characterized by a much higher resolution, opening new possibilities for SAR interferometry. Thanks to the high resolution it is expected to find a larger number of coherent points or persistent scatterers per unit area, resulting in more detailed and accurate measurements by means of SAR differential interferometry techniques. Among the other char...
متن کاملA Study of the Rpc Model of Terrasar-x and Cosmo-skymed Sar Imagery
The rational polynomial coefficient (RPC) model has recently raised considerable interest in the photogrammetry and remote sensing community. This model is a generalized sensor model that is capable of achieving high approximation accuracy. Unfortunately, in all previous literature, the computation of the parameters of the RPC model depends on initial values for the parameters. In this paper, a...
