Feeling positive towards time: How time attitude profiles are related to mental health in adolescents

Introduction Time attitudes refer to the way individuals feel about their past, present, and future have been associated with adolescent-specific developmental, social, emotional changes. The dual-factor model of mental health proposes that optimal functioning entails high levels emotional, psychological well-being, as well low psychopathology. Since previous research has suggested time can assist in understanding development adolescents, primary objective this study was examine relationship between according model. Methods: A total 317 Spanish school students aged 14 16 years (45.1% females) participated study. were assessed Adolescent Adult Inventory-Time Attitudes Scale, profiles identified through person-centered analysis. Data also gathered on well-being distress measures, which analyzed distal outcomes. Results: Four attitude – negatives, positives, past present/future negatives.
