چکیده

BackgroundHuman growth is susceptible to damage from insults, particularly during periods of rapid growth. Identifying those and the normative limits that are compatible with adequate development first key steps toward preventing impaired growth.ObjectiveThis study aimed construct international fetal velocity increment conditional standards 14 40 weeks’ gestation based on same cohort contributed INTERGROWTH-21st Fetal Growth Standards.Study DesignThis was a prospective, longitudinal 4321 low-risk pregnancies 8 geographically diverse populations in Project rigorous standardization all procedures, equipment, measurements were performed by trained ultrasonographers. Gestational age accurately determined clinically confirmed ultrasound measurement crown-rump length at <14 gestation. Thereafter, ultrasonographers, who masked values, measured head circumference, biparietal diameter, occipitofrontal abdominal femur triplicate every 5 weeks (within 1 week either side) using identical equipment each site (4–7 scans per pregnancy). Velocity increments across range intervals between measures modeled fractional polynomial regression.ResultsPeak observed similar gestational age: 16 17 for circumference (12.2 mm/wk), (11.8 mm/wk) (3.2 mm/wk). However, slowed down rapidly length, an almost linear reduction term more marked length. Conversely, remained relatively steady throughout pregnancy. The change evident than when expressed as percentage size We have also shown how obtain accurate our previous methodological work.ConclusionThe skeleton abdomen different patterns intrauterine life. International standards for fetal growth based on serial ultrasound measurements: the Fetal Growth Longitudinal Study of the INTERGROWTH-21st Project.

BACKGROUND In 2006, WHO produced international growth standards for infants and children up to age 5 years on the basis of recommendations from a WHO expert committee. Using the same methods and conceptual approach, the Fetal Growth Longitudinal Study (FGLS), part of the INTERGROWTH-21(st) Project, aimed to develop international growth and size standards for fetuses. METHODS The multicentre, ...

International estimated fetal weight standards of the INTERGROWTH‐21st Project

OBJECTIVE Estimated fetal weight (EFW) and fetal biometry are complementary measures used to screen for fetal growth disturbances. Our aim was to provide international EFW standards to complement the INTERGROWTH-21st Fetal Growth Standards that are available for use worldwide. METHODS Women with an accurate gestational-age assessment, who were enrolled in the prospective, international, multi...

Ultrasound methodology used to construct the fetal growth standards in the INTERGROWTH-21st Project.

A unified protocol is essential to ensure that fetal ultrasound measurements taken in multicentre research studies are accurate and reproducible. This paper describes the methodology used to take two-dimensional, ultrasound measurements in the longitudinal, fetal growth component of the INTERGROWTH-21(st) Project. These standardised methods should minimise the systematic errors associated with ...

The likeness of fetal growth and newborn size across non-isolated populations in the INTERGROWTH-21st Project: the Fetal Growth Longitudinal Study and Newborn Cross-Sectional Study.

BACKGROUND Large differences exist in size at birth and in rates of impaired fetal growth worldwide. The relative effects of nutrition, disease, the environment, and genetics on these differences are often debated. In clinical practice, various references are often used to assess fetal growth and newborn size across populations and ethnic origins, whereas international standards for assessing g...
