There has been great interest in a model with three-Higgs-doublets which fermions particular charge couple to single and distinct Higgs field. We study the phenomenological differences between two common incarnations of this so-called type-Z three-Higgs-doublet (3HDM). point out that models arise from scalar potential only. Thus we focus on observables involve self-couplings. find it difficult uncover features can uniquely set apart ${Z}_{3}$ variant model. However, by studying dependence trilinear couplings nonstandard masses, have able isolate some exclusive indicators for ${Z}_{2}\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{Z}_{2}$ version 3HDM. This highlights importance precision measurements couplings.
