Vectorized Higher Order Finite Difference Kernels
Several highly optimized implementations of Finite Difference schemes are discussed. The combination of vectorization and an interleaved data layout, spatial and temporal loop tiling algorithms, loop unrolling, and parameter tuning lead to efficient computational kernels in one to three spatial dimensions, truncation errors of order two to twelve, and isotropic and compact anisotropic stencils....
متن کاملHigher-Order Difference and Higher-Order Splitting Methods for 2D Parabolic Problems with Mixed Derivatives
In this article we discuss a combination between fourth-order finite difference methods and fourth-order splitting methods for 2D parabolic problems with mixed derivatives. The finite difference methods are based on higher-order spatial discretization methods, whereas the timediscretization methods are higher-order discretizations using CrankNicolson or BDF methods. The splitting methods are hi...
متن کاملFully Conservative Higher Order Finite Difference Schemes for Incompressible Flow
Conservation properties of the mass, momentum, and kinetic energy equations for incompressible flow are specified as analytical requirements for a proper set of discrete equations. Existing finite difference schemes in regular and staggered grid systems are checked for violations of the conservation requirements and a few important discrepancies are pointed out. In particular, it is found that ...
متن کاملThe finite difference algorithm for higher order supersymmetry
The higher order supersymmetric partners of the Schrödinger’s Hamiltonians can be explicitly constructed by iterating a simple finite difference equation corresponding to the Bäcklund transformation. The method can completely replace the Crum determinants. Its limiting, differential case offers some new operational advantages. PACS: 03.65.Ge, 03.65.Fd, 03.65.Ca Key-Words: Supersymmetry, factori...
متن کاملAutomorphic forms of higher order
In this paper a theory of Hecke operators for higher order modular forms is established. The definition of higher order forms is extended beyond the realm of parabolic invariants. A canonical inner product is introduced. The role of representation theoretic methods is clarified and, motivated by higher order forms, new convolution products of L-functions are introduced.
