چکیده
Some non-trilobite faunal elements from Marianian strata of eastern Germany ("Gorlitz Fauna" Lusatia) are presented this region for the first time. One these is Burgess type fossil Halkieria Poulsen, 1967. The extremely low frequency halkieriids in Garlitz fauna and, contrast, very large amount chancelloriids same found horizon point to different habitats two coeloscleritophoran groups and support assumption modes life fossils. Furthermore, a new report made on six enigmatic poorly preserved globular individuals assigned Aetholicopalla adnata Conway Morris, 1990b. Nearly all globules show adaptions sessile benthic and/or an encrusting mode life. Based portrayal present knowledge higher Lower Cambrian small shelly faunas central southern Europe (Germany, Czechia, Poland, France, Spain, Italy) utility biostratigraphy, palaeoecology related topics discussed. A prospect further tasks palaeontology western Mediterranean especially importance capability investigations regions Gondwanan European shelf given.

The Lower Carboniferous (Visean) Granton Lagerstätte (Edinburgh, Scotland) is principally known for the discovery of the conodont animal, but has also yielded numerous crustaceans and other faunas. Here we report on small branching colonies, reaching 10 mm in length. They are small, erect, arborescent, and irregularly branched with predominant monopodial and dichotomous growth. They bud in a si...

Harry Whittington's 1975 monograph on Opabinia was the first to highlight how some of the Burgess Shale animals differ markedly from those that populate today's oceans. Categorized by Stephen J. Gould as a 'weird wonder' (Wonderful life, 1989) Opabinia, together with other unusual Burgess Shale fossils, stimulated ongoing debates about the early evolution of the major animal groups and the natu...
متن کاملA Eucrustacean Metanauplius from the Lower Cambrian
A new eucrustacean arthropod, Wujicaris muelleri gen. et sp. nov, is represented by a Lower Cambrian early metanauplius of strikingly modern morphology despite being the oldest known fossil of such an early immature crustacean larva. The morphology of the metanauplius closely mirrors that of corresponding developmental stages of living barnacles and copepods, and it is likely that its appendage...
