The fast deployment of distributed energy resources (DERs) is creating a series challenges that should be addressed in the coming years. In particular, distribution grids are playing an increasingly important role electricity system. Moreover, three-phase four-wire structure this network contribute to appearance imbalances and problems derived from them. context, system operators (DSOs), as main responsible for grid, must ensure quality supply consumers. This paper takes advantage four-legs D-STATCOM remove current low-voltage power lines. A 35-kVA prototype has been developed installed urban grid. effect analyzed during its first month operation, studying measuring advantages providing DERs ability perform active balancing utility results show reduction 21 % 0 neutral 10.3 0.4 A. addition, 13 decrease cable losses estimated slight improvement voltage unbalance factor can noted.
