چکیده
The coupling of coastal or regional ocean models to hydrological observed data is currently an uncommon practice in operational oceanography. Though are regarded as a powerful and useful tool for estimating the quantity quality freshwater running watershed, they fail provide accurate results river flow reaching area due water-management activities occurring within catchment, such human consumption, irrigation, storage, etc. For this reason, many continue impose surface zero-salinity discharges land boundary conditions representing dynamic boundary. Moreover, flows based climatologies, thus neglecting seasonal interannual variability. To achieve those objectives, study proposes integrated methodology ranging from watershed validation passing through methods proxies integrating into models. main objective explore obtained by using more sophisticated on capacities state-of-the-art hydrologic combined with observation networks. In addition evaluation source river-flow data, work also explores use estuarine simple modelling grids. enable incorporation mixing processes that take place estuaries fluxes obtain plume momentum. proxies, were modelled MOHID Water system evaluated western Iberia waters. served illustrate sea salinity extension Western Buoyant Plume (WIBP) during extreme event March 2018.

3 - D Land Avoidance and Load Balancing in Regional Ocean
We present methods designed to enhance the performance of a parallel ocean circulation model (OCM). The underlying code is based on a primitive equations model of the Mediterranean Sea. We examine the characteristics of this basin and study the tradeoos between minimizing computations by avoiding sweeping over land areas vs. the higher computational rates achieved otherwise for a cluster based ...
متن کاملA framework for the validation of MODIS Land products
The MODIS Land team is producing a suite of global land products whose uncertainty will be estimated through validation activities. The MODIS Land team will base its validation work on the comparison of its products to similar products derived from independent sources. The independent products will be derived from a combination of in situ data and imagery from airborne and spaceborne sensors. S...
