Functional capabilities of higher education institutions’ repositories - members of the program “Priority-2030”

In order to study the composition and contentof repositories of scientific publications, identify their functionality, 106 websites domestic universities – members program«Priority-2030» have been monitored. The has found that only 38% total quantity institutions sites maintain publication repositories. At same time, most them include a small number objects, or limited by chronological framework.The search capabilities covered, as well tools for managing results. It determined mostly provide simple advanced options information retrieval, with ability use Boolean operators, endings shortening, faceted navigation, ranking not all are equipped instructions recommendations on searching in them, which makes it difficult inexperienced users operate them.It revealed repository texts provided bibliographic metadata: rule, they author, title, imprint, source. However, some present more extended information: detailed annotation, abstract, picture cover. linguistic tools, prevents effective search.It noted studied be remote user. is necessary ensure visibility, about existing potential users.In conclusion, benefits creating enumerated: strengthening authority institution, increasing demand library resources, ensuring visibility accessibility educational materials, accelerating knowledge exchange.
