Functional, thermal and rheological properties of polymer-based magnetic composite filaments for additive manufacturing

چکیده

The design of functional composite filaments for fused filament fabrication requires a suitable polymer composition, functionality particles, uniform distribution fillers throughout the filament, and adequate printability. Uniform at predictable concentrations is achieved by designing polymeric capsules containing using them as feedstock extrusion. Functionality can be inferred from that particles target concentration. However, conditions printing strongly depend on type characteristics/concentration fillers. Soft magnetic were produced polylactic acid (PLA) filled with 30–52 wt. % maraging steel particles. Composite preserve soft character Fillers reduce transition temperatures ∼ 5 K have profound impact Rheological characterization shows “ball bearing effect” gas-atomized reduces viscosity composites more than one order magnitude, decreasing temperature 215 °C to 170 °C, associated lack agglomeration proposed production method. experiments allow detect required changes in without requiring an extensive costly trial error process large set parameters.

Barley Protein Isolate: Thermal, Functional, Rheological, and Surface Properties

Barley protein isolate (BPI) was extracted in 0.015 N NaOH in a 10:1 ratio solvent:flour and was precipitated by adjusting the pH to 4.5 and freeze-dried. The thermal properties of BPI were determined using modulated differential scanning calorimetry (MDSC). BPI with 4% moisture content exhibited a glass transition (Tg) with 140 C onset, 153 C middle, and 165 C end temperatures and a DCp of 0.4...

Optimization of the functional characteristics, pasting and rheological properties of pearl millet-based composite flour

Optimisation of composite flour comprising pearl millet, kidney beans and tigernut with xanthan gum was evaluated for rheological evaluations. The functional properties of the composite flour were optimized using optimal design of response surface methodology. The optimum blends, defined as blends with overall best functional characteristics were run 3 (75.956% pearl millet, 17.692% kidney bean...

Thermal and Rheological Properties Improvement of Oil-based Drilling Fluids Using Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT)

In this paper, we detail our results for the impact of MWCNT on the thermal and rheological properties of oil-based drilling muds. Our analysis considers the effects of time, temperature, and MWCNT volume fraction. The scanning electron microscopy imaging technique was used to monitor the MWCNTsdispersion quality. The experimental results unveil a considerable enhancement in the thermal conduct...

Simulation and Injection Molding of Ring-Shaped Polymer Bonded Nickel Braze Metal Composite Preforms Based on Rheological and Thermal Analyses

Rheological and thermal properties of LD-PE and LD-PE + 65 vol% Ni composite were examined by viscosity, pvt and thermal conductivity measurements at a wide range of shear rate, temperature and pressure. The typical shear-thinning viscosity of LD-PE polymer melt was enhanced up to four times by adding 65 vol% Ni braze metal particles. LD-PE show increasing specific volume versus temperature, de...

Rheological and Thermal Properties of Icy Materials

Laboratory measurements of physical properties of planetary ices generate information for dynamical models of tectonically active icy bodies in the outer solar system. We review the methods for measuring both flow properties and thermal properties of icy planetary materials in the laboratory, and describe physical theories that are essential for intelligent extrapolation of data from laboratory...
