چکیده

Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers the potential to transform our lives in radical ways. However, main unanswered questions about this foreseen transformation are its depth, breadth and timelines. To answer them, not only do we lack tools determine what achievements will be attained near future, but even ignore various technologies present-day AI capable of. Many so-called breakthroughs associated with highly-cited research papers or good performance some particular benchmarks. directly translate into a technology that is ready use real-world environments. In paper, present novel exemplar-based methodology categorise assess several technologies, by mapping them onto Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) (representing their depth maturity availability). We first interpret nine TRLs context of AI, identify categories which they can assigned. then introduce generality dimension, represents increasing layers technology. These two dimensions lead new readiness-vs-generality charts, show higher achievable for low-generality focusing on narrow specific abilities, while high still out reach more general capabilities. include numerous examples variety fields, serving as exemplars. Finally, how timelines exemplars at different help forecast short-term mid-term trends AI.

Commodity Futures Price Prediction , an Artificial Intelligence Approach by Ernest

This thesis describes an attempt to predict the next value in a financial time series using various artificial techniques. The time series in question consists of daily values for commodities futures. First, an artificial neural network is used as a predictor. Then the neural network is augmented with a genetic algorithm. The genetic algorithm first is used to select the parameters for the neur...

Can We Define Levels Of Artificial Intelligence?

The paper argues for a graded approach to the study of artificial intelligence. In contrast to the Turing test approach, such an approach permits the measurement of incremental progress in AI research. Results on the conceptual abilities of pigeons are summarized. These abilities far exceed the generalization abilities of current AI programs. It is argued that matching the conceptual abilities ...

Experience with INTELLECT: Artificial Intelligence Technology Transfer

Editor’s Note: At the 1983 National Conference, there was a special session on Technology Transfer. Six speakers from different industrial organizations presented their personal views on the process of turning the results of AI restarch and development into commercial practice. Unfortunately there was not time to produce and distribute a written record of the Symposium for the attendees. To cor...

Computer Technology and Evolution: from Artificial Intelligence to Artificial Life

There is a traditional belief in the computability of nature and society, but it has run into severe difficulties. Computability is only simple for linear problems. But most problems in the world are nonlinear and complex—from the biological evolution of life to the ecological, economic, and social dynamics of human society. Classical physics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have often been ins...
