Galaxy clusters, cosmic chronometers and the Einstein equivalence principle

چکیده
The Einstein equivalence principle in the electromagnetic sector can be violated modifications of gravity theory generated by a multiplicative coupling scalar field to Lagrangian. In such theories, deviations standard result for cosmic distance duality relation, and variation fine structure constant are expected unequivocally intertwined. this paper, we search these possible cosmological signatures using galaxy cluster gas mass fraction measurements chronometers. No significant departure from general relativity is found regardless our assumptions about curvature or depletion factor evolution measurements.

Cosmic Chronometers: Constraining the Equation of State of Dark Energy. II. A Spectroscopic Catalog of Red Galaxies in Galaxy Clusters
We present a spectroscopic catalog of (mostly) red galaxies in 24 galaxy clusters in the redshift range 0.17 < z < 0.92 obtained with the LRIS instrument on the Keck I telescope. Here we describe the observations and the galaxy spectra, including the discovery of three cD galaxies with LINER emission spectra, and the spectroscopic discovery of four new galaxy-galaxy lenses in cluster environmen...
متن کاملDecoherence–induced violations of Einstein equivalence principle
In this essay it will be shown that Decoherence Model and Einstein Equivalence Principle are conceptually incompatible. In other words, assuming only the validity of the Weak Equivalence Principle the present work concludes that we face two possibilities: (i) if Decoherence Model provides a correct description of nature at quantum level, then there are systems which violate Local Position Invar...
متن کاملHigh-energy cosmic neutrinos and the equivalence principle.
Observation of ultra-high energy neutrinos, in particular detection of ντ , from cosmologically distant sources like active galactic nuclei (AGN) opens new possibilities to search for neutrino flavor conversion. We consider the effects of violation of the equivalence principle (VEP) on propagation of these cosmic neutrinos. In particular, we discuss the two effects: (1) the oscillations of neut...
متن کاملEinstein-Planck Formula, Equivalence Principle and Black Hole Radiance
The presence of gravity implies corrections to the Einstein-Planck formula E = hν. This gives hope that the divergent blueshift in frequency, associated to the presence of a black hole horizon, could be smoothed out for the energy. Using simple arguments based on Einstein’s equivalence principle we show that this is only possible if a black hole emits, in first approximation, not just a single ...
