Galaxy clusters in high definition: A dark matter search

چکیده

Recent radio-frequency probes, with the ATCA and ASKAP telescopes, have proven themselves to be at forefront of placing indirect limits on properties dark matter. The latter being able substantially exceed constraining power Fermi-LAT data. However, these observations were based only dwarf galaxies, where magnetic field uncertainties are large. Here we reexamine case for galaxy clusters, often ignored due substantial diffuse radio backgrounds, by considering extrapolation known cluster surface brightness profiles down scales observable MeerKAT. Despite large baryonic find that clusters can competitive galaxies. Extrapolated Coma data rule out weakly interacting massive particles mass $<700\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$ annihilating via $b$-quarks. This is while having lesser surrounding diffusive environment. Such compelling results possible a clash between inner shape matter halo flat profile halos which most pronounced Navarro-Frenk-White-like Einasto profiles, presence some supporting evidence in literature.

Shallow dark matter cusps in galaxy clusters

We study the evolution of the stellar and dark matter components in a galaxy cluster of 1015 M from z = 3 to the present epoch using the high-resolution collisionless simulations of Ruszkowski & Springel. At z = 3 the dominant progenitor haloes were populated with spherical model galaxies with and without accounting for adiabatic contraction. We apply a weighting scheme which allows us to chang...

The nongravitational interactions of dark matter in colliding galaxy clusters.

Collisions between galaxy clusters provide a test of the nongravitational forces acting on dark matter. Dark matter's lack of deceleration in the "bullet cluster" collision constrained its self-interaction cross section σ(DM)/m < 1.25 square centimeters per gram (cm(2)/g) [68% confidence limit (CL)] (σ(DM), self-interaction cross section; m, unit mass of dark matter) for long-ranged forces. Usi...

Clustering of galaxy clusters in cold dark matter universes

We use very large cosmological N-body simulations to obtain accurate predictions for the two-point correlations and power spectra of mass-limited samples of galaxy clusters. We consider two currently popular cold dark matter (CDM) cosmogonies, a critical density model (tCDM) and a flat low density model with a cosmological constant (LCDM). Our simulations each use 10 particles to follow the mas...

Signature of the interaction between dark energy and dark matter in galaxy clusters

We investigate the influence of an interaction between dark energy and dark matter upon the dynamics of galaxy clusters. We obtain the general Layser-Irvine equation in the presence of interactions, and find how, in that case, the virial theorem stands corrected. Using optical, X-ray and weak lensing data from 33 relaxed galaxy clusters, we put constraints on the strength of the coupling betwee...

High resolution search for dark-matter axions

In the current concordance cosmology, 23% of the universe’s total energy density is contributed by exotic dark matter [1]. The axion, arising from the Peccei-Quinn solution to the strong CP problem [2], satisfies the two criteria necessary for cold dark matter [3]: (1) a very cold population of axions could be present in our universe in sufficient quantities to provide the required dark matter ...
