Galaxy number counts at second order in perturbation theory: a leading-order term comparison

چکیده

The Galaxy number density is a key quantity to compare theoretical predictions the observational data from current and future large scale structure surveys. precision demanded by these stage IV surveys requires use of second order cosmological perturbation theory. Based on independent calculation published previously, we present result comparison with results three other groups at leading order. Overall find that differences between different approaches lie mostly definition certain quantities, where ambiguity signs in addition extra terms

Baryon Masses at Second Order in Chiral Perturbation Theory

We analyze the baryon mass differences up to second order in chiral perturbation theory, including the effects of decuplet intermediate states. We show that the Coleman–Glashow relation has computable corrections of order (md − mu)ms. These corrections are numerically small, and in agreement with the data. We also show that corrections to the Σ equal-spacing rule are dominated by electromagneti...

Second Order Perturbation Theory for Embedded Eigenvalues

We study second order perturbation theory for embedded eigenvalues of an abstract class of self-adjoint operators. Using an extension of the Mourre theory, under assumptions on the regularity of bound states with respect to a conjugate operator, we prove upper semicontinuity of the point spectrum and establish the Fermi Golden Rule criterion. Our results apply to massless Pauli-Fierz Hamiltonia...

Considerations in constructing a multireference second-order perturbation theory

For a closed shell ground state with no neardegeneracy effects, a Hartree-Fock calculation followed by second-order many-body perturbation theory, MBPT2, provides reasonably accurate results at low cost in computer time. Hence, for a multireference second-order perturbation theory, we would like a method that reduces to the MBPT2 method for a single closed shell reference state and which retain...

Non-linear Approximations to Gravitational Instability: a Comparison in Second-order Perturbation Theory

Nonlinear approximation methods such as the Zeldovich approximation, and more recently the frozen flow and linear potential approximations, are sometimes used to simulate nonlinear gravitational instability in the expanding Universe. We investigate the relative accuracy of these approximations by comparing them with the exact solution using second order perturbation theory. We evaluate the dens...

Partially quenched chiral perturbation theory in the epsilon regime at next-to-leading order

We calculate the partition function of partially quenched chiral perturbation theory in the epsilon regime at next-to-leading order using the supersymmetry formulation developed by Sharpe and Shoresh. We include a nonzero imaginary chemical potential and show that the finite-volume corrections to the low-energy constants Σ and F for the partially quenched partition function, and hence for spect...
