Gauge dependence and renormalization of tan
Renormalization schemes for tan are discussed in view of their gauge dependence. It is shown that several common renormalization schemes lead to a gauge-dependent definition of tan , whereas two classes of gauge-independent schemes show even worse disadvantages. We conclude that the DR-scheme is the best compromise.
متن کاملGauge Fields on Tachyon Matter
We study the rolling tachyon including the gauge fields in boundary string field theory. We show that there are no plane wave solutions for the gauge fields for large time. The disappearance of the plane wave solutions indicates that there are no excitations of the gauge fields on the tachyon matter, which is consistent with the Sen’s conjecture. Recently, Sen [1, 2] considered the decay proces...
متن کاملGauge dependence and renormalization of tan β in the MSSM
Well-known and newly developed renormalization schemes for tan β are analyzed in view of three desirable properties: gauge independence, process independence , and numerical stability in perturbation theory. Arguments are provided that no scheme can meet all three requirements, and as an illustration, a " No-Go-Theorem " for the renormalization of tan β is established. Nevertheless, two particu...
متن کاملGauge and Scheme Dependence of Mixing Matrix Renormalization
We revisit the issue of mixing matrix renormalization in theories that include Dirac or Majorana fermions. We show how a gauge-variant on-shell renormalized mixing matrix can be related to a manifestly gauge-independent one within a generalized MS scheme of renormalization. This scheme-dependent relation is a consequence of the fact that in any scheme of renormalization, the gauge-dependent par...
متن کاملTwo-loop renormalization of tanβ and its gauge dependence
Renormalization of two-loop divergent corrections to the vacuum expectation values (v1, v2) of the two Higgs doublets in the minimal supersymmetric standard model, and their ratio tanβ = v2/v1, is discussed for general Rξ gauge fixings. When the renormalized (v1, v2) are defined to give the minimum of the loop-corrected effective potential, it is shown that, beyond the one-loop level, the dimen...
