Gauging Awareness of Accessibility in Open Educational Resources

Abstract Open Educational Resources (OERs) have been widely promoted in the higher education community recent years. However, accessibility of OERs for people with disabilities has received relatively little attention. This paper presents results interviews carried out at institutions worldwide who are involved creation and implementation OERs. The goal is to gauge awareness issues raises following research questions: How much do OER creators know about accessibility? What measures needed ensure OERs? Results suggest that aware some around accessibility, but they still need further training on how solve them. lack time, skills, create accessible Support from specialists colleagues hands-on trainings can help cope these challenges.
