چکیده
Asparagopsis armata Harvey is a red alga native from the southern hemisphere and then introduced in Mediterranean Sea Atlantic Ocean, including Azores Archipelago, where it considered an invasive alga. Some studies show that extracts exhibit antimicrobial antifouling activities, incorporated some commercialized cosmetic products. (e.g., Ysaline®). However, knowledge of this species chemical composition scarce. The GC-MS UHPLC-MS profiles both nonpolar polar were established to contribute problem solution. According results, A. rich great structural variety halogenated lipophilic aromatic compounds, them identified here for first time. In extract, 25 compounds are identified, being fatty acids, two major compound families, corresponding 54.8% 35.7% (224 147 mg/100 g dry algae, respectively). 1,4-dibromobuten-1-ol palmitic acid most abundant (155 83.4 extract demonstrated richness brominated phenolics, which cinnamic derivatives predominant. results obtained herein open new perspectives valuing as source consequently improving its biotechnological economic potential. Promoting seaweed consequent increase demand will biodiversity conservation ecosystem sustainability.

Glycolipids from the red alga Chondria armata
Three distinct fractions containing polar glycolipids (PF1–3) were isolated from the chloroform soluble fraction of crude methanolic extract of red alga Chondria armata (Kütz.) Okamura on gel chromatography over Sephadex LH20. Their structure was elucidated by multidimensional nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques like 1H, 1H correlation spectroscopy (COSY), 1H, 1H total COSY (TOCSY), 1H,...
متن کاملThe Mediterranean Red Alga Asparagopsis: A Source of Compounds against Leishmania
Crude extracts and column fractions from the red algae Asparagopsis taxiformis and A. armata from the Strait of Messina (Italy) were screened for the production of antimicrobial compounds. Extracts from both species revealed remarkable antiprotozoal activity against Leishmania, revealing such algae as a great source of natural antiprotozoal products.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the total phenolic and lipid content, fatty acids profiles and in vitro antioxidant activities of aqueous and solvent extracts of the red seaweed Asparagopsis taxiformis, through six different investigations. The present study demonstrated that phenol contents (mg gallic acid/g dry weight) were highest in the aqueous and methanolic extracts, followed...
