چکیده
This paper discusses the problem of retailers’ profit maximization regarding displaying products on planogram shelves, which may have different dimensions in each store but allocate same product sets. We develop a mathematical model and genetic algorithm for solving shelf space allocation with criteria maximization. The implemented program executes reasonable time. quality has been evaluated using CPLEX solver. determine four groups constraints that should be allocated shelf: constraints, type virtual segment constraints. validity developed checked 25 retailing test cases. Computational results prove proposed approach allows obtaining efficient short running time, complex model, considers multiple attributes shelf, segment, product, as well capping nesting rule, is high practical relevance. retailers to receive higher profits regard actual merchandising rules.

Abstract In general redundancy allocation problems the redundancy strategy for each subsystem is predetermined. Tavakkoli- Moghaddam presented a series-parallel redundancy allocation problem with mixing components (RAPMC) in which the redundancy strategy can be chosen for individual subsystems. In this paper, we present a bi-objective redundancy allocation when the redundancy strategies for...
متن کاملAdjusted Network Flow for the Shelf-Space Allocation Problem
In this paper, we study shelf space allocation optimization which is important to retail operations management. Our approach is to formulate a model that is applicable to operational realities and to seek solutions with realistic test data. This model is linked to the multi-dimensional knapsack problem. We first solve a simplified version of the problem to achieve maximum profit by transforming...
متن کاملA Multiobjective Evolutionary Algorithm for the Linear Shelf Space Allocation Problem
This paper presents a multiobjetive approach to solve the Linear Shelf Space Allocation Problem (LiSSAP), which consists on allocating lengths of shelves in a given shop to specific products or groups of products. Previously we gave the first steps towards the development of a commercially viable tool that used evolutionary computation to address the problem; in this paper we introduce MELiSSA,...
