Geochemical modelling of acid injection in high salinity sandstones at reservoir conditions

چکیده

Waterflooding is widely implemented to enhance oil recovery. The displacement efficiency of this method depends on multiple factors, including makeup water properties, native oil, and formation rock. incompatibility the injected fluid with pore can result in a chemical non-equilibrium state within porous media that may different reactions depend type number existing components system. present research aims develop mathematical model capable handling geochemical predict pH ions concentration during an acid injection while considering alterations rock properties. dependency properties (viscosity density) considered based system ionic concentration, which be more crucial high saline media. validity developed was evaluated using experimental literature data. results reveal addition effect pH, process influenced by composition fluid. In other words, salinity significant simulations. Comparing homogenous heterogenous mineral distribution shows insignificant sensitivity amount heterogeneity total contents remain constant both cases.

Modelling of simulated reservoir sandstones clay precipitation within

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether a previously developed computer model, named Pore-Cor, could simulate the subtle changes in void space dimensions which occur during the artificial deposition of small amounts of illite and kaolinite within Fontainebleau sandstone. Clay precipitation was carried out by placing a sandstone plug in a gold capsule, with an aluminosilicate gel, a...

consequence analysis of the leakage, ignition and explosion during high pressure sour gas injection process to the oil reservoir

there is no doubt that human being needs to become integrated with industry and industry needs to be progressed, daily. on the other hand, serious events in industrial units specially in oil industries has been shown that such damages and events are industry related ones. the consequence of such events and damages which resulted in chemical and poisoned explosions and loss of life and property ...

Prediction of Solvent Effect on Asphaltene Precipitation at Reservoir Conditions

The aim of the current study is to evaluate the effects of inhibitors or solvents on asphaltene precipitation under reservoir conditions. To this end, the interaction between live oil and solvent, and its side effects on precipitated/dissolved asphaltene were predicted via Miller’s entropy modified polymer solution theory under reservoir conditions. Then, the adjustable parameters of the model ...

Modelling of Permeability Changes in Argillaceous Sandstones due to Fluid Injection

Injection of formation water can cause formation damage due to the migration of fines, clay swelling, gas bubble formation, as well as the precipitation and dissolution of minerals. Because the injected water has approximately the same chemical characteristics as the production water, fines migration and gas bubbles will be the main sources of formation damage. The near vicinity of the well wil...

AN EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION OF GRAVITY DRAINAGE DURING IMMISCIBLE GAS INJECTION IN CARBONATE ROCKS UNDER RESERVOIR CONDITIONS

Gravity drainage is one of the important recovery mechanisms in fractured carbonate and conventional reservoirs. It occurs due to density difference between the gas in fracture and the oil in matrix as well as in conventional tilted reservoirs. Oil phase will form films which are produced under gravity forces (film flow). Many gas injection experiments have been done on laboratory scales with d...
