چکیده
Abstract The present work concerns with the geophysical assessment for sandstones of Abu Roash C and E members being potential hydrocarbon reservoirs at Gharadig Field, Western Desert, Egypt. analysis seismic data covers Field showing ENE–WSW anticline fragmented by NW–SE normal faults. presence these structures is due to dextral wrench corridor that extensively deformed north area Desert within Late Cretaceous episode. examination well-log Gharadig-6 Well revealed favourable zone locates between depths 9665–9700 ft (zone I) “C” Member. second promising in Gharadig-15 occurs 9962–9973 II) “E” quantitative evaluation indicated I has better reservoir quality than II since it characterised low shale volume (0.01), high effective porosity (0.22), water saturation (0.14), bulk (0.03), higher values absolute permeability (113 mD), relative oil cut, whereas 0.13 volume, 0.16 porosity, 0.39 saturation, 0.06 water, lower (27 relatively cut. obtained results recommended drilling efforts should be focused on sandy levels Member (1st priority) sand (2nd Basin its surroundings.

The Upper Cretaceous was a period when reefs and reef mounds were abundant in many parts of the world (JAMES, 1983). One of the most remarkable features of the Cretaceous carbonate platforms in tropical and subtropical environments of the Tethyan realm, was the development of facies complexes dominated by rudists, with or without associated corals (MASSE & PHILIP, 1981; ROSS & SKELTON, 1993; GI...
