Giftedness as a framework of inclusive education

As societies move toward a deeper engagement with humanitarianism and egalitarianism, education systems have increasingly embodied commitment to principles of inclusion. The field gifted talented (GATE) has reflected these changes in recent discussions around equity, diversity, inclusive practices. This article aims re-examine the practices rethink possibility generating an egalitarianism-based, GATE-derived discourse that can serve as parallel predominant humanitarianism-drive movement. Within self-actualization, we propose framing “gifted” process-based, rather than person-based, construct applies all students they are enabled transact their gifts talents through engaging “gift-ed” process honing self-knowledge learning behaviors. We advocate use person-first language, (i.e., advanced needs/advanced special needs (ALN/ASLN)) will encourage specific interventions.
