Global mapping of total electron content from GNSS observations for updating IRI-Plas model

چکیده
Global median empirical model of Total Electron Content (GTEC) is developed driven by re-calibrated sunspot numbers, SSN2, for the quiet geomagnetic conditions (ap < 15 nT). The based on Spherical Harmonic Analysis (SHA) Ionospheric Maps GIM-TEC provided JPL from 1996 to 2019. SHA coefficients are calculated low solar activity (SSN2 ? 20) and high ? 100) linear interpolation applied between them. input parameters geographic coordinates, time UT, day, month, year, number SSN2. GTEC mapping accuracy validated comparing results GTEC, IRI-2016 IRI-Plas models with independent observed UPC four seasons local moderate (2012). testify that shows Root Mean Square Error, RMSE, about 2 times less than TEC predictions. Model can be used alone prediction under conditions. It also incorporated as an option code improve predictions model.

متن کاملanalysis and prediction of gnss estimated total electron contents
the least squares harmonic estimation is applied to the hourly time-series of total electron contents (tec) derived from ionospheric models using seven years of gps observations processed by bernese software. the frequencies of dominant spectral components in the spectrum are estimated. we observe significant periodic patterns with periods of 24 h and its fractions 24h/n, n=2,…,11, which are th...
متن کاملRegional reference total electron content model over Japan based on neural network mapping techniques
A regional reference model of total electron content (TEC) was constructed using data from the GPS Earth Observation Network (GEONET), which consists of more than 1000 Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite receivers distributed over Japan. The data covered almost one solar activity period from April 1997 to June 2007. First, TECs were determined for 32 grid points, expanding from 27 to 45 N...
متن کاملFeatures of annual and semiannual variations derived from the global ionospheric maps of total electron content
In the present work we use the NASA-JPL global ionospheric maps of total electron content (TEC), firstly to construct TEC maps (TEC vs. magnetic local time MLT, and magnetic latitude MLAT) in the interval from 1999 to 2005. These TEC maps were, in turn, used to estimate the annualto-mean amplitude ratio, A1, and the semiannual-to-mean amplitude ratio, A2, as well as the latitudinal symmetrical ...
متن کاملassessment of the sasstamoinen model for tropospheric correction of gnss observations
propagation of radio waves through the troposphere is based on minimum travel time between transmitter and receiver. the troposphere layer affects the propagation of gnss signals and causes errors in point positioning due to (1) delay of the signal, and (2) change of the curvature of the signal path. for this reason gnss users apply models for tropospheric error corrections. one of the commonly...
