چکیده
Green building development is on the rise with more new constructions receiving green certification locally and globally. Starting 247 papers in first cycle searching of greening an existing building, this paper conducts a literature review over 30 relevant publications related to effort towards from various countries especially Malaysia, since three specific case studies implementation were analyzed country. Regarding current status, there occur several challenges standards regulatory that will slow target achievement sustainable plan besides cost implication project feasibility resulting most buildings do not embed elements. Therefore, retrofitting structure might contribute positive, impact, including cost-saving, living comfortability, environmental preservation. However, decision-making action needs detailed analysis. This identifying expenditure performance, potential benefits through lifecycle assessment cost-benefit presents Malaysia highlights twenty effective strategies successful for development. According summative analysis strategies, important element be addressed thoroughly assessing performance meet sustainability impact. It recommended future researchers conduct survey details procedure stakeholders focus regional-based conditions.
