Gxsview: Geometry and cross section viewer for calculating radiation transport

نویسندگان

چکیده

In this study, Gxsview (Geometry and CROSS Section VIEWer), which is a stand-alone multi-platform integrated visualization tool for 3D geometry, 2D cross section, input file, was developed. Its geometry engine covers almost all geometric features used in the major Monte Carlo radiation transport code, PHITS MCNP, supporting nested universe, fill, lattice, like-but, complement functions. The viewer equipped with modern graphical user interface an ability to pan, zoom, rotate model real time by using mouse. proposed capable of exporting (png, jpg xpm) or (stl, vtk, vtp, ply) formats, thereby realizing collaboration other software printers.

Stochastic Averaging of Cross Section Uncertainty in Radiation Transport

Radiation transport in a one dimensional random medium is considered. The Karhunen-Loève spectral expansion method is shown to provide an efficient representation of the total cross section that is a continuous random process in space. Numerical results for an exponential covariance function show that a low order truncation suffices to capture the dominant components of the random process for r...

High-sensitivity detection using isotachophoresis with variable cross-section geometry.

We present a theoretical and experimental study on increasing the sensitivity of ITP assays by varying channel cross-section. We present a simple, unsteady, diffusion-free model for plateau mode ITP in channels with axially varying cross-section. Our model takes into account detailed chemical equilibrium calculations and handles arbitrary variations in channel cross-section. We have validated o...

Calculating Gravitational Radiation from Collisions

The development of both groundand space-based gravitational wave detectors provides new opportunities to observe the radiation from binaries containing neutron stars and black holes. Numerical simulations in 3-D are essential for calculating the coalescence waveforms, and comprise some of the most challenging problems in astrophysics today. This article briefly reviews the current status of eff...
