The static var compensator (SVC) is a device which designed to compensate reactive power, increase voltage stability and reduce fluctuations. Thyristor controlled reactors (TCRs) are composed of in series with bidirectional pair thyristors. Current through can be continuously by changing the firing angle thyristor valves, thus
 inductive power easily controlled. Typical applications TCRs AC systems stabilization temporary overvoltage reduction, improvement, damping oscillations load balancing. In this paper, harmonic performance analysis SVC equipped presented. SVCs utilizing generate currents therefore it necessary determine effect harmonics generated on system its elements. This includes interaction system, under balanced unbalanced operating conditions finally, evaluation countermeasures such as installation filters. order carry out these analysis, characteristics network at point connection, existing levels harmonics, know appropriate standards regarding acceptable system. Since distortions caused between all contingencies may affect system’s frequency response should evaluated. Detailed model considered make sure that parallel resonance points do not directly coincide characteristic from SVC. Harmonics largely dependent within characteristic. A conservative approach use maximum values spectrum irrespective point. results important for design Harmonic related application presented paper include determination of: transmission impedance required specification filters; effects system; overall filter requirements levels.
