چکیده
The double-slit experiment is the most direct demonstration of interference between individual quantum objects. Since similar experiments with single particles and more slits produce fringes reducible to a combination patterns it usually argued that occurs pairs trajectories, compactly denoted as second-order interference. Here we show mechanics in fact allows for arbitrarily high order. This naturally when one considers multiple objects interacting presence nonlinearity, both which are required observe higher-order We make this clear by treating generalised multi-slit interferometer using second-quantisation. then present explicit experimentally-relevant examples photons nonlinear media an interfering Bose-Einstein condensate particle-particle interactions. These all perfectly described theory, yet exhibit based on nonlinearly.

Higher-Order Interference in Extensions of Quantum Theory
Quantum interference, manifest in the two slit experiment, lies at the heart of several quantum computational speed-ups and provides a striking example of a quantum phenomenon with no classical counterpart. An intriguing feature of quantum interference arises in a variant of the standard two slit experiment, in which there are three, rather than two, slits. The interference pattern in this set-...
متن کاملHigher-Order Abstract Non-interference
This work proposes a type system for checking Abstract Non-Interference in the setting of simply-typed lambda calculus with basic types and recursion. A lambda-expression satisfies Abstract NonInterference relatively to a given semantic property if an attacker which can only see program data up to that property cannot infer, by observing a computation, private data from public ones. Attackers a...
متن کاملHigher-order supersymmetric quantum mechanics
We review the higher-order supersymmetric quantum mechanics (H-SUSY QM), which involves differential intertwining operators of order greater than one. The iterations of first-order SUSY transformations are used to derive in a simple way the higher-order case. The second order technique is addressed directly, and through this approach unexpected possibilities for designing spectra are uncovered....
متن کاملStoring covariance with nonlinearly interacting neurons.
A time-dependent, nonlinear model of neuronal interaction which was probabilistically analyzed in a previous article is shown here to be a natural generalization of the Hartline-Ratliff model of the Limulus retina. Although the primary physical variables in the model are the membrane potentials of neurons, the equations which govern the means and covariances of the membrane potentials are coupl...
متن کاملQuantum Interference between Two Atoms
For the first time, physicists have achieved interference between two separate atoms: when sent towards the opposite sides of a semi-transparent mirror, the two atoms always emerge together. This type of experiment, which was carried out with photons around thirty years ago, had so far been impossible to perform with matter, due to the extreme difficulty of creating and manipulating pairs of in...
