Highly focussed beampattern synthesis in FDA‐MIMO radar with multicarrier transmission

Abstract Multicarrier technology is widely used for improving the performance of beampattern synthesis in frequency diverse array multiple‐input and multiple‐output (FDA‐MIMO) Radar. However, how to use multicarrier achieve highly focussed still an open problem. To this end, authors first establish system model FDA‐MIMO radar with transmission analyse parameters influencing by Cramér–Rao lower bound derivation. It can be recognised that increments distribution are key hindering synthesis. On top investigation, a simple yet effective Multidimensional Non‐linear Frequency Component, named multidimensional components (MNFC), proposed forming beam. Specifically, MNFC two‐dimension component radar. The dimension increment weighted Dynamic Taylor Window Function effectively decouples joint‐range‐angle beampattern. second non‐linear Log Linear Coefficient further optimising dot‐shaped beampatterns target indication high precision. Finally, numerical simulations comparative experiments performed validate superiority
