High‐order multigrid strategies for hybrid high‐order discretizations of elliptic equations

Abstract This study compares various multigrid strategies for the fast solution of elliptic equations discretized by hybrid high‐order method. Combinations ‐, and ‐coarsening are considered, combined with diverse intergrid transfer operators. Comparisons made experimentally on 2D 3D test cases, structured unstructured meshes, nested non‐nested hierarchies. Advantages drawbacks each strategy discussed case to establish simplified guidelines optimization time solution.
