چکیده
Energy requirements push the shipping industry towards more energy-efficient ships, while environmental regulations influence development of environmentally friendly ships by replacing fossil fuels with alternatives. Current mathematical models for ship energy efficiency, which set analysis boundaries at level power system, are not able to consider alternative as a powering option. In this paper, efficiency and emissions index formulated systems, considering three different impacts on environment (global warming, acidification, eutrophication) realistic fuel pathways workloads. Besides diesel, applications options such electricity, methanol, liquefied natural gas, hydrogen, ammonia considered. By extending from system complete cycle, it is possible compare within considered fleet, or whole sector, viewpoint friendliness. The applicability model illustrated Croatian ro-ro passenger fleet. A technical measure implementation in combination an operational speed reduction results even greater increase efficiency. Analysis impact voluntary systems resulted identification optimal specific percentage design speed.

Energy and Environmental Viability of Select Alternative Jet Fuel Pathways
This paper analyzes alternative jet fuels in terms of how they could change emissions from military and civil aircraft and in terms of the challenges in meeting future energy goals. Estimations of the continental United States (CONUS) conventional jet fuel energy usage for the civil and military aviation fleets were used to inform the magnitude and logistics of where the fuels would be needed. ...
متن کاملShort and Long-Term Cost Efficiency Analysis of Fossil Fuel versus Alternative Energy Vehicles
Electric and hybrid-electric vehicles have long been seen as the answer to the economic and environmental problems created by traditional fossil fuel vehicles. In addition to the ability to reduce carbon emissions and reduce negative environmental externalities, they have the potential to end the current dependence on limited fossil fuel reserves and thus enhance energy security. However, the f...
متن کاملPower Generation Dispatch Considering Energy Value and Environmental Protection
Electric power industry should play a bigger role in energy conservation and emission reduction, while the ecosystem degradation rises because of the shortage of energy, the greenhouse effect and the environmental pollution. Power generation dispatch is the key practice in electric power industry. In this paper, the value based dispatch theory is proposed, which assign the value of the natural ...

This paper introduces the “Energy-Environmental Efficiency” concept of building a low-carbon dispatch model of wind-incorporated power systems from the perspective of environmental protection and low-carbon dispatch promotion based on the existing economic environmental dispatch. A rolling auto-regressive and moving-average model is adopted to forecast wind speeds for the next 24 h and reduce t...
متن کاملOptimal energy management of the photovoltaic based distribution networks considering price responsive loads, energy storage systems and convex power flows.
Nowadays, presence of photovoltaic systems in distribution network is not without challenge and it may not have economic productivity for the system under the lack of optimal management. Energy storage systems are able to cope with this problem. Therefore, in this paper, a new method is proposed for energy management of the distribution networks in order to show that how presence of the energy ...
