Homogenization of TiVTaNb refractory high-entropy alloy

Homogenization of refractory high entropy alloys (RHEAs) usually requires very annealing temperatures and long periods due to the melting temperature alloying elements sluggish diffusion effects. TiVTaNb is a typical RHEA with excellent mechanical properties. The present work takes as model alloy shows influence cold-deformation, temperature, time on its homogenization microstructure. optimal process parameters are determined cold deformation 80% thickness reduction, followed by at 1250 °C for 48 h. tensile behavior homogenized then studied based quasi-in situ testing, showing strength 766 MPa. accompanied grain rotation, meanwhile, large number geometrically necessary dislocations piles-up boundaries.
