Abstract The thermal effect of microwave heating was investigated in a NaY aged precursor gel with high dissipation factor. influence power, position, and geometry the cylindrical vessel evaluated on hot spots zeolite formation oven. Higher powers at higher temperatures led to more heterogeneity faster near wall. highest temperature gradient achieved which placed off‐center turntable farthest distance from center, occurred when it center. does not guarantee crystallinity, while nonthermal effects were significant center low temperatures.
