HOW DOES THE G20 SUMMIT AFFECT LAND MARKET? EVIDENCE FROM CHINA

We employ the difference-in-difference and synthetic control methods to investigate capitalization effect of hosting G20 Summit on land market, based China’s transaction dataset from 2011 2019. find that has a significant positive prices in host city, increasing by over 22.6% compared comparable cities. The impact is larger post-G20 period than preparation period. Further, heterogeneous distributional effects prices. venue construction transportation infrastructure upgrading are main channels.
