The wide variety of pricing policies used in practice by data sellers suggests that there are significant challenges sets. In this paper, we develop a utility framework is appropriate for buyers and the corresponding seller. Buyers interested purchasing set have private valuations two aspects—their ideal record they value most, rate at which their valuation records decays as differ from buyers’ record. seller allows individual to filter select interest them. multidimensional information coupled with endogenous selection makes seller’s problem optimally challenging one. We formulate tractable model successfully exploit its special structure obtain optimal near-optimal data-selling mechanisms. Specifically, provide insights into conditions under commonly mechanism—namely, price-quantity schedule—is When leading optimality schedule do not hold, show offers an attractive worst-case guarantee relative mechanism.
