Humic fractions from Amazon soils: Lifetime study and humification process by fluorescence spectroscopy

چکیده

The Amazon Forest is an important and primordial ecosystem, as it controls the dynamics of soil organic matter (SOM) considered one crucial carbon reservoirs in world. Based on that, this study evaluated molecular properties humic (HA) fulvic (FA) acid from soil, with without Cu(II) ions, by Time-Resolved Laser Fluorescence Spectroscopy (TRLFS) (FS). excitation-emission matrix (EEM) was obtained FS, EEM spectra were treated canonical polyadic/parallel factor analysis (EEM-CP/PARAFAC). results showed that humification index (A465nm) determined FS directly dependent fluorophores’ CII/CI ratio these soils depth (r = 0.89), especially for HA samples deep horizons, which demonstrated CII consists more complex humified structure SOM. lifetime decay presence static quenching fractions. From data provided TRLFS different correlations content A465nm, can be suggested fluorescence suppression modifies fractions addition such altering mobility availability metal complexation reactions Amazonian Spodosols, mainly fraction.

In this study, we explore the relationship beAlthough the chemical nature of soil organic matter (SOM) is tween the chemical nature of extracted HA fractions thought to affect the mineralization rate of N bound in SOM, little direct evidence exists for such effects. To test the hypothesis that the and their pattern of N mineraliza...

Study of Compost Maturity during Humification Process using UV-Spectroscopy

The increments of aromatic structures are widely used to monitor the degree of humification. Compost derived from mix manures mixed with agricultural wastes was studied. The compost collected at day 0, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35, 49, 77, 91, 105, and 119 was divided into 3 stages, initial stage at day 0, thermophilic stage during day 1-48, and mature stage during day 49-119. The change of highest absorp...

Characterization of Organic Matter in Spodosol Amazonian by Fluorescence Spectroscopy

Soil organic matter (SOM) plays an important role in maintaining soil productivity and accounting for the promotion of biological diversity. The main components of the SOM are the humic substances which can be fractionated according to its solubility in humic acid (HA), fulvic acids (FA) and humin (HU). The determination of the chemical properties of organic matter as well as its interaction wi...

FLCS – Fluorescence Lifetime Correlation Spectroscopy

The fusion of Time-Correlated Single Photon Counting and Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy, called Fluorescence Lifetime Correlation Spectroscopy (FLCS), is a method that uses picosecond time-resolved fluorescence detection for separating different FCS-contributions. The main emphasis is on the word separating. FLCS does not involve fitting of a complicated model equation to a complicated a...

Humic acid removal from aqueous solutions by peroxi-electrocoagulation process

Background: Natural organic matter is the cause of many problems associated with water treatment such as the presence of disinfection by-products (DBPs) and membrane fouling during water filtration. In this study, the performance of the peroxi-electrocoagulation process (PEP) was investigated for the removal of humic acids (HAs) from aqueous solutions. Methods: PEP was carried out for the remov...
