Hybrid NOMA/OMA Broadcasting-and-Buffer-State-Based Relay Selection

In this paper, we propose a novel buffer-aided relay selection scheme that is capable of amalgamating the concepts non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and orthogonal (OMA) in context two-hop cooperative networks supporting relays. This enabled by allowing nodes to share common information packet their buffers with aid source-to-relay broadcasting mode. Hence, proposed switches between diverse modes uplink NOMA, downlink unicast, source broadcasting, beamforming. The theoretical bounds outage probability, throughput, average delay, diversity order are derived for scheme, based on Markov chain model. Through our analytical numerical results, it demonstrated switching one best an adaptive manner while outperforming conventional schemes.
