چکیده
We have proposed hybrid approaches to solve dynamic provisioning problems in fixed-grid and elastic optical networks (EON). The use the information from optimization models, which normally are used static problems, guide search for a good solution networking. presented three i.e., Route-Model, RouteRes-Model, RouteEON-Model. Route-Model computes routing is integrated with first-fit algorithm. RouteRes-Model routes set of wavelengths each end pair. Both models utilized wavelength assignment networks. Similarly, RouteEON-Model considers characteristics flexible information. This algorithm provisioning. solutions efficiently reduce blocking probability (BP) bandwidth BP EON compared shortest path first (SPF) alternate (k=2) routing. achieved high utilization other solutions. Re-Routing in IP Networks from the aspect of Reduced State Resource Reservation Protocols
Recently, a new working group – NSIS – was established within the IETF to develop a general signalling protocol primarily to support QoS resource reservation. Two main operation modes have been clarified, stateful and reduced state. The first mode relies on per-flow state information in all interior nodes – like RSVP – while the other uses aggregated states – like RMD –. With the use of aggrega...
متن کاملPerformance Implications of Meshing Degree for Optical Burst Switched Networks Using One-Way Resource Reservation Protocols
This paper discusses performance implications of meshing degree (or nodal degree) for optical burst switching (OBS) mesh networks using one-way resource reservation protocols. The analysis is focused on the following topologies: rings, chordal rings with nodal degrees ranging from three to six, mesh-torus, NSFNET, ARPANET and the European Optical Network (EON). It is shown that the largest noda...
متن کاملA comparison of wavelength reservation protocols for WDM optical networks
In WDM optical networks, wavelength is the critical resource for efficient communication of traffic. Hence, suitable protocols are required to allocate and use the wavelengths efficiently. We have studied the wavelength reservation protocols of such networks, which are already developed and reported in literature. Following their historical development, we have outlined some generalized classif...
متن کاملOptical networks with hybrid routing
-All-optical switching or wavelength routing has the benefit of optical bypass that can eliminate expensive high speed electronic processing at intermediate nodes and reduce significantly the cost of high bandwidth transport. But all-optical switching has the limitations of coarse granularity, lack of multiplexing gain, and scarcity of wavelength resources, which do not mesh well with Internet ...
متن کاملAdvance Resource Reservation and its Impact on Reservation Protocols
To guarantee Quality of Services for continuous media like audio and video, intermediate nodes in networks must be able to reserve resources like buffer capacity, CPU time and bandwidth. Several methods have been introduced to verify that new connections can be accepted by the network without violating guarantees made for already established connections. One drawback of all proposed admission c...
