Hydrodynamics of a Multi-Component Bosonic Superfluid

چکیده
We obtain the superfluid hydrodynamic equations of a multi-component Bose gas with short-ranged interactions at zero temperature under local equilibrium assumption and show that quantum pressure is generally present in nonuniform case. Our approach can be extended to systems long-range such as dipole-dipole by treating Hartree energy properly. For highly symmetric superfluid, we excitation spectrum except for density phonon, all other excitations are degenerate. The implication our results discussed.

Lifshitz superfluid hydrodynamics
We construct the first order hydrodynamics of quantum critical points with Lifshitz scaling and a spontaneously broken symmetry. The fluid is described by a combination of two flows, a normal component that carries entropy and a super-flow which has zero viscosity and carries no entropy. We analyze the new transport effects allowed by the lack of boost invariance and constrain them by the local...
متن کاملHydrodynamics of the CFL superfluid
At asymptotic high density and low temperature quarks form Cooper pairs in a color-flavor locked (CFL) configuration. The diquark condensates break spontaneously the baryon symmetry, and this fact makes the CFL phase also superfluid. At low temperatures the transport properties are dominated by the contribution of the superfluid phonon, the Goldstone boson associated to baryon symmetry breaking...
متن کاملRelativistic superfluid hydrodynamics from field theory
It is well known that the hydrodynamics of a zero-temperature superfluid can be formulated in field-theoretic terms, relating for example the superfluid four-velocity to the gradient of the phase of a Bose-condensed scalar field. At nonzero temperatures, where the phenomenology of a superfluid is usually described within a two-fluid picture, this relationship is less obvious. For the case of a ...
متن کاملHydrodynamics of superfluid helium in a single nanohole.
The flow of liquid helium through a single nanohole with radius smaller than 25 nm was studied. Mass flow was induced by applying a pressure difference of up to 1.4 bar across a 50 nm thick Si(3)N(4) membrane and was measured directly by means of mass spectrometry. In liquid He I, we experimentally show that the fluid is not clamped by the short pipe with diameter-to-length ratio D/L≃1, despite...
متن کاملMulti-Scale Perturbation Analysis in Hydrodynamics of the Superfluid Turbulence. Derivation of the Dresner Equation
The Hydrodynamics of Superfluid Turbulence (HST) describes the flows (or counterflows) of HeII in the presence of a chaotic set of vortex filaments, so called superfluid turbulence. The HST equations govern both a slow variation of the hydrodynamic variables due to dissipation related to the vortex tangle and fast processes of the first and second sound propagation. This circumstance prevents a...
